For the second year in a row, WNIN-FM was awarded the Region Seven Award for Overall Excellence by the Radio Television Digital News Association. Our bilingual podacast, ¿Qué Pasa, Midwest? received the honor in the Excellence in Innovation category for 2020.

Community support for high quality, local journalism has once again been recognized in a significant way. Last Saturday, WNIN received seven first place awards and three second place awards from the Indiana Associated Press Broadcasters at ceremonies in Indianapolis.

The community's commitment to support high quality journalism was honored with another national news award Monday.  The Society of Professional Journalists recognized our coverage of the impact of Dr. Albert Fink's crime on the criminal justice and disability claims systems in Indiana last year with a Sigma Delta Chi award.

From quick, clear reporting on a police-involved shooting, to quality health reporting,  ¿Qué Pasa Midwest? and our year long investigation into the impact of the crime of a trusted court expert, our community's support for high quality, local news was honored over the weekend.

In addition to national recognition with finalist placements in the national contests sponsored by the Scripps Howard Foundation and the Investigative Reporters and Editors group, WNIN was honored with statewide honors in Indiana and Kentucky for reporting in 2017.
