The company will invest over $800 million and add over a thousand new jobs to build two new SUV's.

For the third time in four years, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana announced a major expansion Wednesday.

With their customary fanfare, TMMI announced an investment of $803 million at the plant, adding 1,400 new jobs as the company adds two as-yet unnamed three row SUV’s to the Gibson plant’s production line.

The announcement was made at the plant, with Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb and local dignitaries in attendance.

According to TMMI President Leah Curry, one of the new SUV’s will carry the Toyota brand and one will be produced for a luxury brand.

“You heard it right. The luxury brand of Lexus is coming right here to Indiana and our team members are so proud.”
