A Half-Dozen COVID Deaths Added in Evansville Area; New Infections Stay Low

Six new COVID-19 related deaths have been reported in the Evansville area. 

The Indiana Department of Health announced three new fatalities in Vanderburgh County, two more in Gibson County, and one in Dubois County.

New COVID infections continued to trend lower, with 18 in Vanderburgh, and single digits in Warrick, Posey, and Gibson counties.

Vanderburgh’s seven-day positivity rate held at 4.3 percent.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county district of southwest Indiana fell by one to 30.

Statewide, Indiana saw 32 new coronavirus-related deaths and less than 1,000 new infections.

Encouraging numbers from western Kentucky, where the Green River District Health Department added just 20 new infections in the seven-county district.

The agency reported no new COVID-related deaths and 12 COVID patients hospitalized.
