Vanderburgh County’s two-week metric score has improved on the state’s pandemic dashboard.
The county has turned from yellow to blue on the Indiana map, meaning the county has averaged less than ten new COVID cases per 100,000 residents.
Gibson and Pike counties are also in the blue category, while Warrick and Posey counties remain yellow – indicating 10-to-99 infections per 100,000 residents.
No new COVID-19 deaths were reported in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties on the Wednesday dashboard.
One new fatality was recorded in Pike County.
The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county region of southwest Indiana fell to 31.
Statewide, the Indiana Department of Health recorded nine new COVID-related deaths and less than 800 new infections.
The Green River District Health Department recorded a new fatality in Henderson County and another in Daviess County.
Henderson’s pandemic death toll climbed to 60, while Daviess County has seen 159 fatalities.
The department counted 37 new COVID infections in its seven-county district.
