COVID Deaths and Infections Climb in Southwest Indiana

Eight more COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded in southwest Indiana. 

The Indiana Department of Health announced four new COVID deaths in Warrick County, one in Vanderburgh County, one in Gibson County, one in Pike County, and one in Dubois County.

The agency also counted 134 new infections in Vanderburgh and 61 in Warrick, pushing that county’s pandemic total beyond 10,000.

Vanderburgh’s seven-day positivity rate among individuals fell slightly to about 24 percent. 174 more county residents became fully vaccinated.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients across the 12-county region of southwest Indiana fell by 13 to 266.

Statewide, COVID-related deaths jumped by 86 with more than 2,900 new infections on the Wednesday dashboard.
