More than a dozen people are in federal custody after law enforcement busted a drug trafficking organization at an Evansville motorcycle club.
Federal, state and local law enforcement are calling the six-months long operation – Operation Reapin Benefits. The name comes from the Grim Reapers Motorcycle Club – the epicenter of the investigation leading to the arrests.
U-S Attorney Josh Minkler says Evansville is a safer place because of the collective hard work of law enforcement:
“Armed drug dealers seeking to infest our cities with drugs have been taken off our streets. A leader of an organization, the president of the Grim Reapers Motorcycle Club has been taken off our streets. This is good news, this is a big win.”
The investigation uncovered and confiscated nearly thirty pounds of methamphetamine, estimated to be worth a quarter of a million dollars, twenty-three firearms, and $35,000 in cash.
Law enforcement officers arrested 15 of the individuals without incident but there are two suspects still at-large. Their names are Jesse Wilson and Kimberly Wilson.
