Police removed an intruder from Reitz High School on Wednesday.
In a message to families, the EVSC said Reitz students reported an unknown teenager in the building apparently attempting to blend in as a student.
The young man was escorted to the school’s office, and a resource officer placed him into custody without incident.
The EVSC said authorities questioned the teen and determined he was not enrolled at Reitz.
It turned out he had been expelled from a school district in a nearby county and he had two pocket knives on him. No threats were made.
In the message, the EVSC said authorities would continue to investigate the incident and the individual would be “prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
The school corporation said it was grateful to the Reitz students who reported the teen to school officials.
