The Southwestern Indiana team made its presentation early Monday morning. WNIN's Steve Burger has an update from that presentation.

EARLIER: The Southwest Indiana Regional Economic Development Authority is the first of six groups that will be presenting Monday to a panel reviewing  proposals for the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative.

Half a billion dollars in state funding is on the line for a total of seventeen regional groups hoping to get a portion of the funding.

Greg Wathen with the Evansville Regional Economic Partnership says two of their group members traveled to Indianapolis Sunday, while the rest of the presentation team is flying up early Monday morning.

The goals for the local READI funding proposal include population growth, raising the quality of life and working to eliminate poverty. The Southwestern Indiana group is presenting at 8:30 Eastern Time Monday at the Dallara Indy Car Factory in Indianapolis. It will be streamed on Zoom and recorded for later viewing.
