COVID-19 related deaths continue to rise in western Kentucky.

The Green River District Health Department recorded a dozen more deaths, four of them in Henderson County, four in Daviess County, two in Union County, and two in Webster County.

The pandemic death toll rose to 271 in Daviess and 108 in Henderson County.

The department also tallied 225 more infections between Tuesday and Thursday in the seven-county district.

The agency said the seven-day average for new infections stood at about 59.

In a release, department director Clay Horton reminded residents that everyone age 5 or older is eligible for the Pfizer and all persons age 18 and older are eligible for the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.

Horton urged the unvaccinated and those in need of a booster to find a vaccine location at vaccine.ky.gov. and roll up your sleeve.
