Tara Barney will become Chief Executive Officer of EREP on October 1, and Greg Wathen will be the group’s president.
At its first ever annual meeting and member dinner Wednesday evening, the Evansville Regional Economic Partnership announced who will lead the merged group.
Barney and Wathen had previously led two of the organizations that merged in April to create EREP. Barney was CEO of the Southwest Indiana Chamber, and Wathen led the Economic Development Coalition of Southwest Indiana. Growth Alliance for a Greater Evansville is the third organization in the merger.
A release from EREP says that Barney has over thirty years of experience in chamber, economic and community development.
Prior to his work at the Coalition as its first President & CEO in 2007, Wathen worked as the Executive Director for the Perry County Development Corporation and was Public Affairs Manager for the Greater Louisville Economic Development Partnership.
