Henderson Police to Stop Traffic on Labor Day Weekend

File

Heading into Labor Day weekend, Henderson police officers are setting up traffic checkpoints to deter impaired drivers.

Henderson police officials say the checkpoints are to keep unsafe drivers from endangering others on the road.

Officers will be stationed at several intersections in the city. In Kentucky, driving with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or higher can result in fines, criminal charges, and potentially jail-time. Using illegal or certain prescription drugs while driving can also result in legal consequences.

Indiana officials are taking similar action with regard to drunk driving this weekend with increase patrols throughout the area.
