An Arkansas-based tech company is expanding, and leasing a giant warehouse space in Vanderburgh County.
Windstream, a communications and software company, already has a presence in Evansville but because of the growing demand for premium broadband services nationwide, the company is outfitting 150,000 feet of warehouse space in the Vanderburgh Industrial Park.
Windstream is embarking on a $2 billion dollar expansion in 18 states. Officials from the company say they chose Evansville for part of that expansion because of their existing relationship with the area and because of the talented workforce.
There is no word yet on how many jobs may be available as a result of the expansion.
