Henderson County Sheriff Ed Brady has announced his retirement.
Brady says he will step down at the end of this month after 14-and-a-half years as sheriff and 52 years in law enforcement.
Brady’s retirement will end his fourth term early. It was set to expire at the end of 2022.
In a press release, Brady called his retirement “bittersweet.” But he turns 70 later this month and calls it “the right time to go.”
Brady said he wants a chance to “enjoy life after retirement.”
He’s asked Henderson County Judge Executive Brad Schneider to appoint Chief Deputy David Crafton to fill the sheriff’s position until the end of 2022.
