Teen Severely Injured When Watercraft Explodes

An investigation is underway in the incident at Lynnville Park Tuesday morning.

Authorities are investigating what caused a personal watercraft to explode Tuesday, severely injuring a teenager. 

According to a release from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, a sixteen year old female started her personal water craft. For unknown reasons, the craft exploded, ejecting her into the water.

Nineteen year old Harrison Raisor of Evansville saw the incident and pulled the juvenile out of the water. She was taken by helicopter to St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville where she is being treated for several back injuries.

The juvenile was wearing a life jacket. No other details are available at this time.
