EPD Investigates Shooting Outside McDonald's

File

Evansville Police are investigating a shooting outside a McDonald’s restaurant.

Police were dispatched to the McDonald’s drive-thru at Washington Avenue and Highway 41 at about 8:30 Monday night.

In a release, EPD Sgt. Nick Winsett said officers found a male who had been shot while sitting in his vehicle.

An ambulance crew took the victim to a local hospital. His name was not released but police said he was expected to survive the wounds to his thigh and lower abdomen.

Police said detectives spoke with several witnesses who told them the victim was arguing with someone in a different vehicle who drove away.

But a short time later, while waiting for his food, the victim was shot while still in his car.

Anyone with more information about the incident is asked to contact the Evansville Police Department’s Detective Office at 812-436-7979, or call the We Tip Line at 800-78-CRIME.
