Authorities are investigating a suspicious fire at an Evansville gas station.

Firefighters were dispatched to the Huck’s convenience store at 2225 Business 41 at about 6:30 Tuesday evening.

In a release, Division Chief Mike Larson said crews found a large trash fire between a Dumpster and a steel-sided out building on the Huck’s lot.

Two employees were trying to put the fire out with extinguishers. Firefighters quickly knocked down the flames and pulled boxes of dry goods out of the building to prevent damage.

The EFD said flames heavily damaged the steel siding of the out building and no one was injured.

Larson said the fire was considered suspicious and an arson report was filed with Evansville Police.
