Mainly over western Kentucky, but you'll want to keep an eye out in Indiana and Illinois as well Thursday.
According to a National Weather Service briefingWednesday afternoon, the forecast calls for most of the severe weather to stay south of the WNIN listening area.
However, Paducah forecaster David Humphrey says we won’t know until Thursday morning whether a small change in the path of the severe weather could mean an active storm day, especially over western Kentucky.
Humphrey also gave the likely timing of the event.
“The peak severe weather chances are anywhere from as early as three (pm CDT) in our far west to as late as nine (pm CDT) exiting out of the area.”
High winds and hail are the main threats Thursday, but scattered tornadoes cannot be ruled out. One to two inches of rain are also forecast, with locally higher amounts possible.
