Woman Accused of Hitting Man, Driving Away

File

A man is hospitalized and a woman is in jail following a hit-and-run crash on the Henderson Strip.

It happened just before 7:00 Tuesday evening in the 2000 block of U.S. 41 North.

In a release, Henderson Police said 33-year-old Juston Tillman of Henderson ran in front of a vehicle driven by 47-year-old Kimberly Derrington, also of Henderson.

The HPD says Derrington’s vehicle hit Tillman and she left the scene, before calling 911 from her home more than an hour later.

Police say Derrington admitted she knew she had hit a pedestrian but kept driving.

Officers arrested Derrington on a preliminary charge of Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Serious Physical Injury.

An ambulance took Tillman to a hospital.
