In-person spring graduation ceremonies were also discussed.
In a release, USI officials said the board on Thursday approved four undergraduate certificate programs in things like cybersecurity and data analytics and nine graduate certificate programs in areas such as public administration and addiction sciences.
The board also heard from athletics director Jon Mark Hall on the progress toward the creation of a new swimming and diving program. A fifty student program is planned to begin competition in the Winter 2022 season in the USI Aquatic Center, which is scheduled to open this summer.
The board also approved degrees for USI’s planned in-person spring semester graduation, scheduled over three days in early May, socially distanced in the new Screaming Eagles arena.
