No New COVID Deaths in Southwest IN; Infections Low

The Indiana Department of Health has released more encouraging pandemic numbers for the Evansville area.

The state agency added no new COVID-related deaths in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, Gibson, Pike, Dubois, or Spencer counties.

The Thursday dashboard also showed 26 new infections in Vanderburgh, and just single-digit increases in the surrounding counties.

Vanderburgh’s seven-day positivity rate remained below five percent.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county region of southwest Indiana fell by four to 62.

Across Indiana, 26 more COVID-related deaths were reported, with just over 1,100 new infections.

The statewide seven-day positivity rate held at just above four percent.
