Car Crash, Snowboarding Accident Kill 2

File

This week’s winter weather may have been a factor in a fatal car crash and a fatal snowboarding accident.

Vanderburgh County Coroner Steve Lockyear says 32-year-old Eric Daniel Gourieux of Evansville died of injuries suffered in the snowboarding accident on Monday.

Lockyear said Gourieux died at Deaconess Midtown Hospital on Thursday.

Evansville Police are investigating the accident.

Meanwhile, the coroner says a crash on State Road 57 on Tuesday claimed the life of 34-year-old Olivier Elize of Washington, Indiana.

Lockyear said Elize also died at Deacoess Midtown on Thursday.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash, which injured three others.

The sheriff’s office also said alcohol was a factor in the crash.
