Evansville’s public libraries will resume in-person services on a limited basis later this month.

The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library says limited in-person services will begin Monday, February 15th.

In a release, EVPL CEO-Director Scott Kinney said the move is part of the system’s “phased reopening plan.”

In the meantime, the library system continues to provide curbside service in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

EVPL locations offer the services Monday through Friday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Kinney said EVPL buildings and procedures have been modified to minimize the risk of potential COVID exposure.

Plexiglass has been placed in high traffic areas, including circulation and information desks.

Distancing reminders have been placed throughout the libraries, furniture has been rearranged, and computer stations have been shifted to ensure social distancing and are regularly disinfected.

Meeting rooms and study rooms will remain closed to the community and staff.

Library visitors are required to wear face coverings.
