Three shooting and stabbing incidents within an hour of each other kept Evansville police busy overnight Saturday.
In the first incident, Evansville police went to a home about 11:30pm Saturday in the 1000 block of Allen’s Lane for a burglary in progress.
They never found evidence of a burglar, but they did find several bullet holes from shots fired from inside the home and some that hit a neighbor’s house.
No one was injured. Thirty seven-year-old Joshua David Hudson was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and criminal recklessness.
Then just after midnight Sunday, police investigated several shots fired at a car with five people inside.
Witnesses said a front seat passenger spit gum out the window as they drove eastbound on the Lloyd Expressway near Highway 41. A dark colored passenger car pulled up alongside and the driver fired the shots.
Two people were hit. Police said their injuries are not life threatening.
About the same time, a homeowner on South Garvin called police to say that a man with numerous serious stab wounds was beating on his door. The victim was taken to the hospital. His condition is not known.
