A dozen more COVID 19-related deaths have been reported in southwest Indiana and western Kentucky.
The Indiana Department of Health announced two new fatalities in Vanderburgh County, one in Warrick, one in Posey, one in Dubois, and two more in Spencer County.
Vanderburgh saw another triple-digit increase in infections, 132, with the seven-day positivity rate holding just below 13 percent.
Across Indiana, the state recorded 49 more COVID-related deaths and more than 3,500 new infections on the Friday dashboard.
The statewide seven-day positivity rate was about 10-and-a-half percent.
In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department announced five more COVID-related deaths, three in Daviess (Davis) County, one in Henderson County, and another in Ohio County.
The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the seven-county district was up to 57, with 131 new infections.
