Woman Arrested after Hit and Run Crash

File

Police have arrested a woman accused of leaving the scene of a serious accident.

First responders were dispatched to the crash in the 900 block of W. Columbia St. late Monday afternoon.

In a release, EPD Sgt. Nick Winsett said the victim had parked his vehicle and was using a walker to cross the street, when an SUV hit him and his parked car -- and then fled the scene.

The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Winsett said officers were able to follow a trail of fluids from the suspect vehicle, which led them to the parking lot of the nearby Hacienda Restaurant at Columbia and First Ave.

Police said the suspect, 29-year-old Jessica Anne Moore, was found in the restroom of the restaurant.

Moore was transported to a hospital where a blood sample was collected and sent off for testing.

She was taken to the Vanderburgh County Corrections Center on preliminary charges including Leaving the Scene of a Crash with Serious Bodily Injury, Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated, and driving with a suspended license.
