A minivan crash in northern Vanderburgh County seriously injured the driver and a child.
It happened Sunday morning on State Road 65, south of Baseline Road.
In a release, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office said a 9-1-1 caller reported that the occupants of the minivan, including a child, were trapped inside.
The sheriff’s office said Scott Township firefighters arrived first and began extricating a nine-year-old boy from the van.
The driver and child were both taken to St. Vincent Hospital with what the sheriff’s office called “life-threatening injuries.”
A witness told deputies they saw the minivan begin to leave the road.
The witness said the driver over-corrected, ran off the roadway, and the van hit a tree.
