Two unrelated traffic stops led Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s deputies on chases through Evansville streets.
The first pursuit started early Tuesday, when a deputy attempted to stop an SUV for an equipment violation near U.S. 41 and Maxwell Avenue.
In a release, the sheriff’s office said the vehicle slowed for a moment and then sped away.
The office said the driver sped through streets and alleyways, before hitting a utility pole in the 800 block of East Iowa, where he fled on foot.
The sheriff‘s office said a citizen reported the suspect’s location, and with help from Evansville Police and a sheriff’s K-9, deputies found Zachary Scott Pribble hiding on the deck of a nearby home.
Authorities said the 28-year-old Pribble was in possession of methamphetamine, and he faces numerous charges.
The other chase happened late Tuesday when the driver of a car failed to use his turn signal off N. St, Joe Avenue.
That pursuit continued through a large portion of Evansville before ending at Covert and Weinbach, where the driver lost control and the car hit a utility pole.
Authorities arrested 29-year-old Joshua Dale Irwin of Evansville. He faces numerous charges.
