The Indiana State Department of Health reported two new fatalities in Vanderburgh County, raising the county’s death toll to 184.
The agency also reported a big infection increase, 242. That pushed the number of cases in the county since March beyond 14,000.
One new COVID-related death was added in Dubois County.
No new fatalities were reported in Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties.
The number of COVID patients in the hospital fell to 252 across southwest Indiana, while the percentage of available intensive care beds dropped to about 13 percent in the 12-county region.
Statewide, 62 new COVID-related deaths were added, pushing Indiana’s pandemic death toll beyond 7,300.
More than 4,700 new infections were recorded across the state.
Grim numbers from the Green River District Health Department, which announced seven new deaths – six of them in Daviess County and one in Henderson County.
The agency also reported 200 new COVID-19 infections and 41 hospitalized COVID patients in the seven-county district.
