The COVID-19 Crisis Response Fund of the Greater Evansville Region announced Monday that it is moving from funding only relief efforts to also considering applications for recovery and restoration.

In a release, the fund organizers say that they will now look for opportunities to provide both stabilizing support to vulnerable agencies and to reimagine how nonprofits can serve our communities well into the future.

So far, the fund has made about $2.3 million in grants of the approximately $5 million raised for COVID relief. Nonprofits serving Gibson, Posey, Spencer Vanderburgh and Warrick Counties are encouraged to apply for the next round of funding.
