No New COVID Deaths in Evansville Area

In a break from discouraging numbers, no new COVID-related deaths are reported in the Evansville area.

The Indiana State Department of Health announced no new fatalities in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties.

One COVID-related death was reported in Dubois County on the Monday dashboard.

Vanderburgh County saw another triple-digit increase in infections – 114 -- but that was about half the number reported on Sunday.

The total of hospitalized COVID patients in southwest Indiana fell a bit to 265 and the percentage of available intensive care beds improved to about 16 percent across the 12-county region.

Statewide, 31 new COVID-related deaths were tallied -- pushing Indiana’s pandemic total above 7,100.

Another 337 are considered “probable” COVID deaths.

In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department recorded no new COVID-related fatalities and a lower-than-usual 90 new infections.

Two new COVID deaths were announced in Hopkins County.
