As COVID cases rise, Deaconess Health System is changing its visitor guidelines.
In a release, the health system said visiting hours at Deaconess Midtown, Gateway, Henderson and Gibson Hospitals, are now 8 AM to 6 PM with adult inpatients limited to one visitor per calendar day.
Pediatric patients may have two visitors.
Patients in isolation will not be permitted any visitors.
Deaconess says visitation exceptions will be made for end-of-life situations and other special circumstances.
Outpatients for most office visits or testing will not be permitted a visitor, while outpatient procedure patients may have one person accompanying them.
The health system said Deaconess Cross Pointe and Deaconess Union County are also limiting visitors with similar guidelines.
The Women’s Hospital will continue to allow one visitor per patient throughout their stay.
And neonatal intensive care patients will be allowed visits by both parents.
Deaconess said the moves were made to protect patients, visitors and employees from coronavirus infection.
