The COVID-19 death toll in Vanderburgh County has reached 100.
The Indiana State Department of Health reported the county’s 100th fatality on its Monday dashboard.
The county also saw another big one-day jump in new infections, 167.
No new COVID-related deaths were reported in Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties but all three saw significant new infections: 56 in Warrick, 54 in Gibson, and 26 in Posey.
The number of COVID patients in the hospital rose to 233 in southwest Indiana, with the percentage of available intensive care beds up a bit to 19 percent in the 12-county region.
Across Indiana, 26 new deaths were reported with more than 5,200 new infections.
The state’s seven-day positivity rate continued to rise, up to 11.7 percent.
In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department reported 72 new infections but no new COVID-related deaths in its seven-county region.
The number of hospitalized patients in the district rose to 49.
