A driver is in the hospital after a crash in northern Vanderburgh County.
Sheriff’s deputies and Scott Township firefighters responded to the single-vehicle crash on Old State Road, just north of Boonville New Harmony Road, at about 7:30 Friday morning.
In a release, the sheriff's office said deputies and fire personnel found a silver SUV off the side of the road. It had hit a tree.
The sheriff’s office said the driver was unresponsive, but showed signs of life.
An ambulance took the driver to a local hospital. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
A preliminary investigation determined the SUV had been southbound on Old State, crossed the center line, ran off the road, and struck a large tree.
Firefighters had to extricate the driver.
