Gunshots wound woman, hit houses and cars

File

Evansville Police are investigating a shooting that wounded a woman and left bullet holes in homes and cars.

The EPD says officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Madison Avenue at about 3:00 Wednesday afternoon, when a caller reported people arguing and shots fired.

Another caller said people were running from the area as shots continued to be fired.

In a release, the EPD said a woman was shot in the leg while standing in front of her home.

Police said officers put a tourniquet on the woman’s leg before she was taken to a hospital. She’s expected to survive her injury.

The EPD said officers found bullet holes in homes and cars, but no further victims. No suspects were found either.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the EPD Detective Office at 812-436-7979.
