The University of Southern Indiana has acquired the historic photo collection of the man who was head of security at the Evansville Ordnance Plant during World War Two.
Before he owned the popular Rajo’s Gun Shop on West Franklin Street, Raymond Diekmann was in charge of security at the Evansville Ordnance Plant on North Garvin Street during World War II.
USI’s Archives and Special Collections at the David L. Rice Library has now put Diekmann’s war time photos online for anyone to easy access. A release from the university says the entire gallery is keyword searchable. The collection joins more than 40,000 digitized images and documents curated by the university covering the history of USI, Evansville and the Midwest.
