Evansville Police are investigating after a man walked into Deaconess Hospital with a gunshot wound.
Police were called to Deaconess Midtown at about 1:00 Tuesday morning for a report of a man who had been shot in the shoulder.
In a release, the EPD said the victim and a witness told officers they were walking in the area of Mary and Oregon Streets when a black passenger car pulled up and started shooting.
One of the rounds hit the victim’s shoulder.
He and the witness proceeded to nearby Deaconess Midtown and said they didn’t know who shot at them or who owned the vehicle.
Police said the victim didn’t want to assist in the investigation and declined to pursue charges against the suspect.
The victim’s wounds were not considered life-threatening.
