Free meals for students at local public schools will continue.
The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation made the announcement on social media.
It said the USDA has officially extended its meal waivers for the entire 2020-21 school year.
The waivers were originally set to expire in December.
The free meals are part of federal COVID-19 relief.
The School Nutrition Association has been advocating for the extension, because of an increase in food insecurity during the pandemic.
