A Henderson man is accused of raping a child.
Henderson Police say 21-year-old Shayman Hancock was arrested on a charge of 1st degree rape with a victim under 12 years of age.
In a release, the HPD said an eleven-year-old girl told authorities that Hancock sexually assaulted her sometime between April and July of this year.
Officers took Hancock to the Henderson County Detention Center on Thursday.
Police said the investigation continues.
