EPD Investigates Overnight Carjacking

File

Evansville Police are investigating a carjacking at a near-Downtown gas station.

In a press release, the EPD says officers were dispatched to a robbery at the Marathon station at 8th St. and Bellemeade Ave. at about 2:30 Tuesday morning.

The victim told officers that a young man approached her in the parking lot, pointed a gun at her, and demanded money and the keys to her car.

The victim described the suspect as between 16 and 20 years old, 5’6 to 5’10 in height, and weighing about 150 pounds.

The suspect left the station in the victim’s 2008 Ford Taurus with Kentucky license plates.

It was described as a 4-door with a yellow sticker on the windshield, chrome mirrors, door handles and wheels, and black plastic rain guards.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the car is asked to call Evansville Police or the WeTip Line at 800-78-Crime.
