The number of new COVID cases in Vanderburgh County is down, at least for a day.

The Indiana State Department of Health tallied just seven new infections for the county in its Wednesday report.

It’s not clear if the data was impacted by the Labor Day holiday.

The state dashboard also showed no new COVID-related deaths in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Posey, or Gibson counties.

Statewide, 17 new fatalities were reported along with more than 700 new cases.

The Green River District Health Department reported 35 new infections in its seven-county region – eleven of them in Henderson County and ten in Union County.

The department said 15 COVID patients were in hospitals.
