The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed another annual event in Evansville.
The Hadi Shrine says the 87th Shrine Circus will have to wait until November 2021.
On its Facebook page, the circus says it cancelled this fall’s event after consulting with the Vanderburgh County Health Department.
The four-day circus was to start – as usual -- on Thanksgiving Day.
Shrine Executive Director Joe Vezzoso said the top priority is “the safety of children, families, and our nobility in our communities.”
The group also cited the safety of performers who would have to travel across the country.”
