ISP: Newburgh Woman Killed Husband in Crawford County

File

A Newburgh woman is accused of fatally shooting her husband.

Indiana State Police say troopers responded to gunfire in the 2400 block of N. Dillard Road in Birdseye, Friday night.

In a release, the ISP said a preliminary investigation showed 57-year-old Lisa Harris of Newburgh shot her husband, 56-year-old Michael Harris.

Police said Crawford County EMS treated Harris at the scene and took him to Jasper Memorial Hospital, where he died.

Lisa Harris was incarcerated in the Crawford County Jail on a preliminary homicide charge.

The ISP did not indicate what led to the shooting, saying the investigation is ongoing.
