Authorities have identified the man who died in a crash on I-69.
Central Dispatch sent first responders to the wreck near the Morgan Ave. exit late Tuesday afternoon.
The call taker advised that an SUV had flipped and a man had been thrown from the vehicle.
Three juveniles and a woman were also reported in the SUV.
In a release the EPD said its officers, Vanderburgh County sheriff’s deputies, and Evansville firefighters arrived and attempted life saving measures, checked on the other occupants, and shut down traffic to southbound I-69.
The man who was ejected from the SUV, identified as 27-year-old Dylan Cleveland of Haubstadt, was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
A juvenile in the vehicle was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
No other passengers were injured.
The EPD said witnesses saw a rear tire blow out on the SUV before the vehicle began to swerve and eventually overturn.
Cleveland was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt prior to the crash.
The investigation and clean-up forced police to block southbound I-69 during the evening rush hour.
