Lane Young will start immediately as the new executive director of the water and sewer utility.

In a release Monday, Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke noted that Young has a strong background in executive leadership, finance, strategic planning and communications.
Young is a former Army officer who has held several positions in the non-profit and private sectors, including Evansville Titles and Old National Bank.
Young will face a couple of big tasks at the utility. He will lead the Refresh and Renew Evansville projects to upgrade and replace hundreds of miles of aging water and sewer pipes in the city. He will also be dealing immediately with over two thousand local households facing water shutoff, many due to lost income during the pandemic.
