Evansville Police are investigating an early morning shooting.
Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Edgar St. at about 3:00 a.m. Thursday for a report of disorderly conduct.
The caller said a large crowd had gathered and as police were arriving, they heard gunshots.
Police found a female victim with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
In a release, the EPD said she was conscious and alert and taken to a hospital with what was considered a non-life threatening wound.
Her name was not released.
