An Evansville restauranteur is running for school board.
Amy Word announced her candidacy for the 3rd District seat on the EVSC Board on Monday, less than three months before the election.
On Facebook, Word described a passion for education, a teaching background in the EVSC, and mentioned mentoring students, guest speaking at area high schools, and helping to prepare students for the future,
Word also cited her experience as a small business employer.
She owns and operates two Franklin St. businesses, Lamasco Bar and Grill and Amy’s on Franklin.
Word would face District 3 incumbents Terry Gamblin and Jeff Worthington in the November election.
