Evansville Police are investigating a pair of convenience store robberies.
In a release, the EPD said officers were called to the Kwik Stop on Pollack Ave. at about 8:00 Thursday night, for a holdup in progress.
When officers arrived, the clerk told them that a man wearing a mask entered the store displaying a rifle.
The offender went behind the counter, pointed the rifle at the clerk, and ordered him to open the register.
He took money and some cigarettes before fleeing to a waiting getaway vehicle.
About six-and-half hours later -- at 2:30 Friday morning -- police were called to the Circle K at Riverside and Boeke for another holdup in progress.
The clerk gave a similar description of the suspect as the clerk did from the earlier robbery.
In the second hold-up, investigators obtained video and still photos of the suspect as well as the getaway vehicle.
Anyone with information on either of the robberies is asked to call the Evansville Police.
