The Evansville Police Department is investigating a shooting near Downtown.
In a release, the EPD says officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Wall St. at about midnight, after receiving multiple calls that a subject had been shot.
Officer Phil Smith said police found a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
Smith said the victim was unresponsive but breathing.
AMR and fire department crews rendered aide while officers contained the scene.
They determined the victim had an apparent second gunshot wound to the lower leg.
AMR took him to a hospital in what police called “serious condition.”
The EPD said detectives found multiple shell casings in the area, but no suspect.
