While stressing that conditions may change, Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation officials discussed their reopening plan Tuesday afternoon.
During a Facebook Live session Tuesday afternoon, EVSC superintendent Dr. David Smith said they’ve been working on the reopening plan for the past five months. The plan released Tuesday is a district-wide plan, while school specific guidelines will be released later this week. Dr. Smith stressed that parents and the community have to be flexible.
“I want everybody to understand that this is the plan as of now. The overarching precepts are not going to change, but as the conditions change within our community, then this plan may be altered.”
The plan outlines various operating levels based on community infection levels over the course of the school year, from a green level where all in-class and remote learning options are available, to red in the event that schools again have to close and only remote learning options are available.
