The University of Southern Indiana has canceled its commencement ceremonies.
The ceremonies for the spring 2020 graduates were re-set for next month at Screaming Eagles Arena.
But on the USI website, President Ron Rochon says the continued increase in COVID 19 cases has forced him to cancel.
USI said the decision was made following extensive consultation with local and state health officials.
The university also noted the extension of Stage 4.5 of the Back on Track Indiana plan by Governor Eric Holcomb.
The commencement ceremonies were originally scheduled for May 1 and May 2, and then postponed to mid-August.
Now, they are canceled.
